Currently, we offer both Physical and Digital Gift Cards (also referred to as “eGIft Cards”) here for any value up to a maximum of $500 per card. Total purchases by any one individual may not exceed ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00) in one calendar day.

Newly purchased Gift Cards are distributed by CashStar Inc., a Delaware corporation. CashStar is a Blackhawk Network business specializing in gifting.

Simply personalize the Digital Gift Card for your recipient, have it sent to yourself and then print it. Go to the "For Me" tab underneath "Who is the gift card for". Your Digital Gift Card will be sent to the email address entered on the Payment Page. Enter your recipient's name and your personal message on the Digital Gift Card messages page and complete the transaction normally. You will receive a Digital Gift Card alert via email. Follow the instructions in this message to retrieve your Digital Gift Card and then choose "Click to print this page." The resulting printout may be presented as a gift to the recipient. Make sure the card number prints clearly, as that is what they will need to use their Digital Gift Card. Anyone with this printout or card number can use the Digital Gift Card for qualifying Rent the Runway purchases, so treat it as carefully as cash!

Gift Cards may be applied toward one-time Reserve rentals, purchases, subscription membership fees, and additional subscription spots, shipments or plan upgrades.

When a Gift Card is redeemed, the full value of the Gift Card is loaded into your Rent the Runway Account as a credit balance. Subscription Fees or purchases of Products will be deducted from your credit. Any unused credit balance will remain in your Account and be automatically applied toward subsequent Subscription Fees or purchases until the credit balance has been exhausted. If a transaction exceeds your available account credit balance, you will be prompted to enter an additional payment method for the remaining amount due in order to complete the transaction.

Any refunds of items purchased with Gift Cards are subject to our Return Policy generally and will be made in the form of a credit balance on your RTR account.

Digital Gift Cards

No. You will only be charged the face value of the Digital Gift Card plus any required sales tax. There are no shipping or processing fees for Digital Gift Card purchases.

Physical Gift Cards

Purchases of Physical Gift Cards are subject to shipping fees based on the shipping method you select at checkout. No other processing fees are applied to your Physical Gift Card purchase, however, tax will be applied as applicable.

If you wish to add a personal message to a Gift Card, simply type your message in the Message field during the purchase process. Personal messages are limited in length to the space provided with the Gift Card. If we find inappropriate, offensive or otherwise objectionable messages, we reserve the right to decline the sale or cancel the order at our discretion.

Yes. For example, if you send separate Digital Gift Cards to Aunt Mary and Uncle Jim at their shared email address, they will receive two messages with the subject "[Sender] sent you a Digital Gift Card from Rent the Runway" with your name in place of [Sender]. Within the text of the emails, each message will be addressed to the respective recipient, using the name you entered in the purchase process, for example: "Mary Smith, John Jones sent you a $XX Digital Gift Card from Rent the Runway."

Yes. To do so, go to the "For Me" tab underneath "Who is the gift card for". Your Gift Card will be sent to the email or shipping address entered on the Payment Page.

When you receive your Digital Gift Card alert via email, follow the instructions in this message to retrieve and redeem your Digital Gift Card.

For Physical Gift Cards

Your Gift card will be mailed to the shipping address as entered in checkout. Follow the instructions received with the gift card to redeem.

If your Gift Card has a delivery date in the future and has not been delivered, you can cancel your purchase by contacting Customer Support and receive a refund. If the delivery date is the same day as the purchase date, the same date that you want to cancel or in the past, it cannot be canceled or refunded. You may not return or cancel your Rent the Runway Gift Card after it is received. Purchasers who wish to cancel a Gift Card purchase order prior to its delivery to a recipient should contact Customer Support.

Digital Gift Cards

Your Digital Gift Card typically will be sent via email on the delivery date you choose. For same-day delivery, most Digital Gift Cards are typically sent within an hour of the purchase transaction. For future delivery, Digital Gift Cards are typically sent on the morning of the scheduled delivery date. Please see the "Digital Gift Cards" section below for more about Digital Gift Cards.

Physical Gift Cards

Delivery times of your Gift Card are determined by the Shipping Method selected in checkout. Orders are generally shipped within 1-2 business days. Once your Gift Card is shipped, you will receive an email with a tracking number, with which you may access the current shipping status of your gift.

On the delivery date you choose, an email is sent to the recipient informing them of your gift, with a link to retrieve it online. The link in the email goes to a page showing the Digital Gift Card you created (the design you selected, with your recipient's name and your personalized message), its value and code number. This page also gives simple instructions for redeeming the Digital Gift Card. Sometimes, special offers and promotions are listed on the page. Digital Gift Cards

You will receive an email message confirming delivery of the Digital Gift Card. If the Digital Gift Card goes unacknowledged for 15 days after delivery, you will receive a message with options for resolving the issue. You may also contact Customer Support with the order number from the email you received confirming your purchase, and we can help you resolve the issue.

Physical Gift Cards

Once your order is shipped you will receive an email with a tracking number, with which you may access the current shipping status of your gift.

We aim for the successful delivery of all Digital Gift Cards but there is a chance that the email will be treated as spam or the recipient doesn’t notice it in their email inbox. You will receive an email confirming delivery of the Digital Gift Card. If the Digital Gift Card goes unacknowledged for 15 days after delivery, you will receive a message with options for resolving the issue. You or your gift card recipient can always contact Customer Support for help.

You may redeem previously purchased gift cards and check balances the same way as a newly purchased Digital Gift Card (please refer to the other relevant FAQs). These also do not expire.

Your RTR Gift Cards do not expire.

Your credit card is charged at the time of purchase. This purchase should appear on your credit/debit card statement as CS *RENTTHERUNWAY GC.

Your Gift Card has cash value and should be safeguarded as such. Gift Cards will be replaced if lost, stolen, or damaged, but only with proof of purchase and only for the remaining value shown in our records. We are not responsible if your Gift Card is used without your permission. If your Gift Card has not been fully redeemed or has some remaining value, we can cancel the original and issue you a new Gift Card for that value. You must safeguard your Digital Gift Card. If someone gains access to your Digital Gift Card and redeems it for the full amount, your copy will have no value. No matter how many copies are made, the value of the Digital Gift Card is tied to the Digital Gift Card number. When that number is used for an order, the value of the order is deducted from the Digital Gift Card. If you suspect that someone has copied or stolen your Digital Gift Card, contact Customer Support immediately.
